After a very rigorous selection process, which included a 15 member committee, a contract has been award for replacement Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) apparatus. Scheduled to be delivered Nov 2018, Toronto Pearson Fire & Emergency Services will receive two Rosenbauer Panther 6×6- 11,356 litre (3000 gallon) crash tenders with air aspirated roof turret and HVLA (High Volume Low Attack) bumper turret. The firefighting components of the new PANTHER form a completely integrated system. Pumps with an output of up to 2100 GPM/8,000 LPM with suitable automatic foam proportioning systems, roof and bumper turrets for an output of up to 2100 GPM/8,000 LPM for a throw range of up to 300 ft/92 M. The new PANTHER goes from 0 to 50 mph in under 28 seconds* thanks to its 700 HP engine and 6-speed gearbox. The lowered centre of gravity of the vehicle allows an excellent driving dynamic in every operational situation – whether on-road or off-road.
